Good Burger 2 Cooks Up November Release Date on Paramount+

Fans can soon start ordering Good Burger 2 to satisfy their appetites for new movies as the upcoming comedy film cooks up an official release date on Paramount+.

Per Collider, the anticipated Good Burger sequel, starring long-time creative duo Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, will exclusively debut via Paramount+ on Nov. 22 in North America. For viewers in the United Kingdom and Australia, the movie will premiere on Nov. 23. Paramount+ also released new artwork to promote the film, which is helmed by British filmmaker Phil Traill.

Good Burger 2 is the follow-up to the original 1997 film, based on a skit Thompson and Mitchell did during Nickelodeon’s All That. Good Burger saw Thompson star as high school slacker Dexter Reed, who took on work at the titular fast food restaurant to pay off a car debt following an accident, and Mitchell as Ed, the quirky cashier who eventually strikes a friendship with Dexter. While Good Burger received mixed critical reviews, the film increasingly garnered a cult following over the years and was a commercial success, making $23.7 million against an $8.5 million budget.

The seeds for Good Burger 2 were initially planted in 2015 when Thompson and Mitchell did a sketch based on the original movie for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon before Mitchell confirmed in 2018 that the duo were open to doing a sequel or reboot. Thompson confirmed Good Burger 2 was in development shortly after receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in August of last year, with the screenplay completed a few months later.

Filming for Good Burger 2 took place this past May and June, with a former Friendly’s restaurant in Rhode Island used as the stand-in location for the eponymous facility. A teaser for Good Burger 2 was released in August showing Dexter and Ed back in action, with Ed’s son, played by Moonlight‘s Alex R. Hibbert, also working at the establishment. Additionally, The Good Burger sequel features new nuances, including vegan-friendly burgers, a move praised by the animal rights group, PETA.

Good Burger 2 Features an All That Reunion

Good Burger 2 also features former All That co-stars Josh Server (Fizz) and Lori Beth Denberg (Connie Muldoon), who reprise their roles from the original movie, while Carmen Electra appears as Roxanne. Few plot details for the movie have been released for the film, which is produced by Nickelodeon Studios.

Good Burger 2 premieres via Paramount+ on Nov. 22.
